Finite mathematics is a field that studies the properties of structures that are finite. They arise both within mathematics and in its applications. Such finite structures include:
- Finite groups;
- Finite graphs;
- Mathematical models of information converters;
- Finite state machines;
- A Turing machine;
- Discrete structures.
Such structures are made up of some algebraic systems, infinite graphs, certain types of calculable charts, cellular automata, etc.
Within the framework of educational programs, finite mathematics is often related to informatics and computer technology (functional systems theory, graph theory, automata theory, combinatorics, integer programming).
