Performance Critique

Fridays 7 - 9pm

Course Description

This is primarily a critique group wherein students and guests will unpack performances, experiments, and presentations. Participants wishing to present or perform will be paired with a manager/producer (a classmate or guest.)

Every class will start with a short period of private writing. The northern window will be open.

After we close the window we will settle into the room and share something. The weeks will alternate between presentations/critiques and classes focused on screenings, readings, exercises and guest lecturers.

Stand up comedy, busking, motivational speaking.

DJs, magicians, puppeteers, auctioneers,  and newscasters.

Stanislavsky, charlatans, and the guy who controls Golem with his body.

The group will explore exercises and experiments that have been culled from the many histories of performance training.

Every 4th meeting or so the group will be opened to the greater BHQFU community as an open mic.

At the end of every meeting we will take a group photo.

* Attending every class is encouraged but part-time students' participation will be facilitated via a weekly email.
